What Will People Say About You?
"True instruction was in his (Levi) mouth and nothing false was found on his lips. He walked with me in peace and uprightness, and turned many from sin." Malachi 2:6
It is obvious that God was well pleased with Levi and he used the prophet Malachi to relay that message to the Jews. God reminds the Jews of His covenant with Levi and wants them to return to it.
The point here is that Levi was a man God used! God wants us to know that He was pleased with Levi, because he walked with God in peace and uprightness.
Some day you will leave this earth and they will have a funeral for you. The obituary in the news paper will give some information about your life. What do you want others to say about you when you are gone? What do you want God to say to you when you see Him? I like the words used to describe Levi, a man who walked in peace with God. He was upright and gave instruction and didn’t tell lies. The result was that many turned from sin.
When people come to your funeral and think of the life you have lived, what will they say about you? Better yet, what do you want people and God to say about you? Once you have decided what the answer is, make a decision to live your life so they can say that about you after you have gone, and even while you are still here!
